1. How we price
Two figures and no third. A one-time build, itemised, and a fixed annual fee for hosting, support and upkeep. There is no per-visitor charge, no bandwidth charge, no per-seat charge and no support tier to buy. A busy month is not an invoice.
Every number on this page is read from our live billing catalogue as you load it, which means this sheet cannot disagree with the invoice you would actually receive. If a rate changes, this page changes with it.
2. The one-time build, itemised
A build is quoted as a single figure for your project, then split across these line items by fixed weight. The weights are the same for every customer, so two agencies comparing quotes are comparing the same thing.
| Line item | Share | $4,000 build | $8,000 build | $15,000 build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Site pages designed and built | 35% | $1,400 | $2,800 | $5,250 |
| Mobile-responsive layout and cross-browser testing | 15% | $600 | $1,200 | $2,250 |
| Basic search engine optimization (titles, meta tags, sitemap, local keywords) | 15% | $600 | $1,200 | $2,250 |
| Contact form, built and spam-protected | 10% | $400 | $800 | $1,500 |
| Analytics and tracking setup | 7.5% | $300 | $600 | $1,125 |
| Domain connection and DNS setup | 7.5% | $300 | $600 | $1,125 |
| SSL certificate installation | 5% | $200 | $400 | $750 |
| Unlimited website traffic capacity | 5% | $200 | $400 | $750 |
| Total | 100% | $4,000 | $8,000 | $15,000 |
The weights sum to exactly 100% by design — an itemised invoice whose lines do not add up to its own total is a dispute waiting to happen, so the billing code refuses to produce one.
3. What drives the build figure
The table above divides a number; this is what sets it. We quote after reading your scope, not from a calculator, but these are the variables:
- Page count and how many are templated versus individually designed.
- Structured content — a filterable property index, an events calendar with submissions, a searchable document centre. Each is quoted as its own named line and each is real work, not a switch.
- Content migration — how much exists, in what state, and whether it needs restructuring on the way across.
- Integrations — your mailing platform, your payment processor, a regional listings feed.
- Accessibility remediation of existing documents, if you want it in scope. Often the largest single item for a public body, and often the one nobody budgets for.
4. The annual fee
What it covers, in full:
| Included | Share of the fee |
|---|---|
| Hosting | 68.7% |
| SSL certificate renewal | 5% |
| Email hosting and deliverability | Included at no charge |
| Uptime monitoring & support | 10.5% |
| Security updates | 15.8% |
Support is in there, under uptime monitoring and support. There is no separate support contract, because a site we host and patch is a site we answer for.
5. How the annual fee is calculated
As a tapering percentage of the build figure. A larger site costs more to keep, but not proportionally more — so the rate steps down as the build grows rather than scaling with it.
| Band of the build figure | Annual rate |
|---|---|
| $0 to $2,500 | 25% |
| $2,500 to $10,000 | 12% |
| $10,000 to $50,000 | 5% |
| Above $50,000 | 1.5% |
With a floor of $29.00 a month: no site runs for less than it costs us to run it, however small the build.
6. Worked examples
Computed by the same functions that compute an invoice, at the moment you loaded this page.
| One-time build | Annual fee | Billed monthly | Year one total |
|---|---|---|---|
| $4,000 | $805 | $67.08 | $4,805 |
| $8,000 | $1,285 | $107.08 | $9,285 |
| $15,000 | $1,775 | $147.91 | $16,775 |
These are illustrations of the arithmetic, not a price list — your build figure comes from your scope. What they do show is the shape: the annual fee is a known, fixed, modest fraction of the build, set before you commit, and it does not move because your traffic did.
7. What is not charged for
- Traffic. Unlimited on every plan. No overage exists to be billed.
- Editor accounts. As many staff as you need, at no per-seat cost.
- Support tickets. Included.
- SSL certificates. Issued and renewed at no charge.
- Your data export. Free, on request, any time — see data ownership and exit.
- Handover to your next vendor. Up to two hours, free.
8. Terms
- Invoiced in U.S. dollars by Queantic LLC. Net 30 by default; we will match your accounts payable terms if they differ.
- Purchase orders accepted. Put the PO number on the quote request and it will appear on the invoice.
- Annual fee billed monthly by default, or annually in advance if your budget cycle prefers it. Same figure either way.
- Quotes are valid for 90 days, which is usually long enough to clear a board agenda.
- No automatic price escalation clause. A change to your annual fee requires a new agreed scope.
This document is part of Queantic's vendor packet. The rest of the packet — and the two items we supply on request rather than publish — are listed on the procurement page. Questions about anything in it: ask us directly.
